Singapore day three Tuesday 15/11/11

Late start this morning, sfter ten by the time we got out. Headed off on the MRT to Changi museum. First taste of bus travel znd we gt it wrong - unusually here you have to present the card on exit as well as entry. Had a jug of iced lemon tea and chicken nuggets to fortify us for the museum. Some pretty horrific stories ans also some very moving ones of the Japanese occupation.  Back via bus and MRT to chinatown. Looked at the heritage centre, not good value as many videos were not working. The mockup shophouse was as scruffy as I remember seeing them in the seventies. Stopped off for a tea, rather peculiar milk! Wandered around and looked at temples and architecture then sat down for a beer- very cheap. Wandered back to the food area and ttrked to decide where to eat. Succjmbed to pressure and went into a restaurant and immediately regretted it when we saw the prices. Paid for the beer and spring rolls and went out to sit in the middle of the road and had crispy oat fried prawns from one of the stalls. Heading back to the train we were distracted by some of the stalls and parted with some cash. Once in the station we had a rapid trip back to the hotel.
