Up and off to the town hall for the free walking tour using the free shuttle and a Japanese toddler at the bus stop was happily singing "row row row your boat..." which rather amused us. Snatched a breakfast from an italian cafe - wonderful coffee - and off we went for our three hour walk. We'd decided not to go to the Australian open as we'd be in the sun for the whole time and expected it to be too hot, but in the event it was quite comfortable. The walk was quite gentle and took us to some places we'd already been but gave us a lot of information and took us into some interesting pleces we'd never have found on our own. We ended up on the rocks and Friday afternoon was the beginninge of the weekend markets. We had lunch from one of the stalls and ate it in the park. Found the rocks discovery museum and poked round there for a while. Had problems with a childrens interactive puzzle - where's Freddie when you need him? We then hung around looking at shops and going up to the observatory - just as it closed. Came across six weddings in a very short space of time - some of them taking place out in the park fighting the wind. It's 11/11/11 today and there were expected to be an above average number of weddings. Back to the rocks and street theatre was beginning to happen. Singing, hula hoops, dancing, music etc. The cabinet of curiosities really was a bit fishy though. Getting cold we were looking for somewhere to eat and found many Sydneyside pubs had a dress code which wouldn't let me in as I was wearing shorts. Back on the bus closer to home and found a Thai restaurant who weren't too fussy about their clientelle. Enormous helpings that neither of us could finish. Finally back to the hotel to put our feet up... we'd been on our fet for the best part of 11 hours and were beginning to feel our feet had had enough. NZ sim card finally ran out of credit so that can be ditched and we'll get another one in Singapore .
