Day three Hong Kong

Slept very badly, wide awake at 1am. Around 7 tried to get the free wifi working but to no avail. Found but couldn't get McDonalds free 20 minutes connection working. Eventually purchases a day's access and looked at emails and uploaded blog to yesterday. Decided to follow another walk in upper Kowloon so after looking at the biggest computer centre in HK which turned out to be dozens of small shops, we took the MTR to Diamond Hill and explored a garden built around a nunnery. Had a very nice lychee slush puppy then headed back by MTR to look at a temple and the park created after the demolition of the walled city in the nineties. Very fascinating as I,d heard about it in the 70's but never got to see it - and now I have seen the model I think it was a good job I never got there. Getting hungry we went to a noted area of 10 streets of food outlets, which seemed to have changed somewhat and there were fewer than expected and most left a lot to be desired so we tried a very clean looking dim sum which turned out to be sweet rather than savoury and had a picnic in the park - probably safer than the alternative.  Back on the MTR to Tsim Shat Tsui and took the ferry to Central and walked through miles of elevated walkway to get to the tram line. Hundreds of people sitting in groups on the pavement and the road talking eating and playing cards, no idea why. Apparently National day and happenings in the park we passed. Difficult to squeeze off the tram but just managed it, at the right stop too. Back at 4:30 for a zzzz and cup of tea. Off out again to find something to eat. Checked the location of the A11 airport bus stop for tommorrow and the feasibility of dragging luggage there. Turned out to be ok. Next tackled the computer centre again for a big SD card. Not much different to uk prices. Went towards the bright lights of Lockhart road and discovered they were mainly clubs of varying types, but amongst them was a Thai bar and restaurant where we stopped initially for cocktails - Singapore sling and Hong Kong Tea. Menu looked good so we ordered food and were very pleased with our choice of prawn cakes followed by seafood and Carol's fried rice baked in a baby coconut and my red curry.
