Woke to a lovely morning nice breakfast Dave's birthday tomorrow but rushing off to Sydney so pressies opened today. Guided tour of Aukland - up Onetree hill for the overview from the monument. Down through various suburbs including Epsom and into Parnell for coffee and cake. Strolled down the main street and as rain threatened went back to the car and drove into Dave's office car park which was convenient to Queens Wharf and Viaduct harbour areas. The Volendam, our cruise liner, is already there, presumably the last leg ended up with an option of tickets to the final. Wandered into the fanzone and saw some of the happenings, buskers and street entertainers. Had lunch at the Waterfront restaurant in the maritime museum complex. Carol's french toast which was made from baguette slices and the salads and wraps were again generously proportioned. Long walk around the harbour, waited for the lifting footbridge whilst an americas cup yacht entered. Saw a real superyacht just arrived named VvS1 which seemed weird 'til we googled it and found it belonged to a New Zealand multimillionaire jeweller and Vvs1 is a measure of diamond clarity. Back to Commodore Court for a rest and a meal before heading off to the theatre for a fund raising event of some sort.
