Rotorua day seven Friday 21/10/2011

Time to move on again and after a swift breakfast the kitchen is cleared into 3 piles, recycling, rubbish or pass on to Ann, and all cases into the van. Slow queue to check out  ie pay for the thermal baths trip. Then on the road again round the north of the lake and heading for SH 5 then SH 1 for Hamilton and Aukland. Stopped in Cambridge for a coffee and walk around, all very horsey. Continued on through relatively flat areas used for arable - quite a change from the hilly areas round other parts. Stopped for lunch beside a lake at one of the many picnic stops beside the roads. Lovely sunny day but very windy making the van difficult to steer at any gret speed. Through, or rather round Hamilton and then on the highway north past the airport into Aukland. Easier this time as we just followed the same road through and over the bridge north towards the toll road. Stopped at the service station to sort out the route on the pc. Minor disagreement over what next turning right actually meant. Finally found our destination and were welcomed with a cup of tea. Much chatting and an attempt at sleep for Carol, almost in the middle of the neighbours football match - very noisy. Off for a tour of Gulf Harbour and its surroundings - enormous marina and fast ferries to Aukland. Thai restauramnt in Manly provided a superb meal for all four of us then back to bed at almost 10pm. Next day planned to be a visit to Aukland as we'd just driven through it on all our previous visits.
